Fun Fourth Of July Statistics For Your Down Time Pleasure

150M pounds of hot dogs will be eaten, 700M pounds of chicken will have been purchased, as 80 percent of us attend picnics or cookouts.

AUSTIN, TX — While it may seem like everyone will be out at a fireworks display tonight, it will actually be roughly 63 percent of people attending. Slightly more people display an American flag on this day, 66 percent. In the u.S., it's all about the food: 80 percent of us will attend a barbecue, picnic or cookout and 150 million hot dogs will be consumed.

Those are among the statistics compiled by Statistic Brain, which in turn uses data from CNN, The Herald Tribune and the U.S. Census Bureau. Bear in mind these stats are the most recent available from September 2016, but should give you an idea of trends.
