'Guaranteed To Feel Good, Look Good' Women's Event Set For Austin

AUSTIN, TX — Guaranteed To Wrinkle, the Austin-based organization that aims to empower women and support local businesses, is hosting a new event this month called “Guaranteed to Feel Good, Look Good.”

The event is scheduled on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at the Sunset Room, 310 E. 3rd St., starting at 6:30 p.m. The special evening will focus on the health benefits from dancing, supporting the community and how women can add a little more self-care to their daily routine.

Popular local dance guru Melody Afkami with Melody DanceFit will be featured at the event. From her disco-lit classes to crazy flashmobs, Afkami has cultivated a dedicated following of "dancefitters" who consistently show up to sold-out classes — not just for the workout, mind you, but also for the continuous reminder to shed their ego and celebrate themselves in the present, organizers noted.

Afkami will guide attendees through a dance workout with moves that will go down to the basics and up their heart rate while learning the health benefits that come from dancing, which go way beyond the physical.

For a post-dance cool-down, Sabia Apothecary will provide a special 10-minute facial to all attendees. Plus, guests will have the opportunity to book an exclusive GTW customized facial at a discounted price. Guests will also enjoy refreshments and drinks by Austin-based Rambler Sparkling Water, FIX Vodka, Susto Mezcal and more.

Representatives from Dress for Success Austin, an organization that helps empower women to achieve economic independence by providing tools to help them thrive in work and in life, will be in attendance, and guests are encouraged to bring makeup and handbags as a donation.
