Harmony CTX Only PLTW Distinguished District in Texas

One of 28 districts nationwide to earn this Project Lead the Way distinction for STEM education out of more than 3,500

Harmony Public Schools—Central Texas has been named a 2025 Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished District,the only public school district in Texas to earn this prestigious honor this year. This national recognition places Harmony among an elite group of only 28 school districts nationwide to receive this designation out of more than 3,500 PLTW-participating districts.

Project Lead The Way is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that develops science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) curricula for students in grades PreK–12. Distinguished District status is awarded to districts that empower students to thrive in an evolving world by providing transformative learning experiences through PLTW programs.

Harmony Public Schools–Central Texas is no stranger to leading the charge in STEM education. Since the inception of PLTW’s Distinguished District recognition program, only Harmony districts have received this accolade among Texas public school systems—a testament to the organization's commitment to innovation, equity, and college and career readiness.

To be eligible for the PLTW Distinguished District honor, districts must have a significant percentage of their schools offering PLTW programs and demonstrate a strong commitment to student access, engagement, and success in STEM learning.
