Here Is Your List Of Interstate 35 Closures For Sept. 29-Oct 5

Key points along highway — including Oltorf Street, Rundberg Lane, Stassney Lane, Gattis School Road and more — closed for repair.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — With so many people moving into Austin every day, traffic congestion on Interstate 35 is increasingly frustrating. But when drivers know which roads are closed in advance, they can save some of this frustration by carefully plotting alternative routes to reach their destinations.

Hence, the value of the Texas Department of Transportation list of I-35 closures, a weekly compilation meant to aid Austin-area drivers. Behold, the list for Saturday, Sept. 29, to Friday, Oct. 5:

I-35 AT COUNTY ROAD 305

  • Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane between Bell County Line and FM 487. Exit #275 will also be closed.
    • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1 through Tuesday, Oct. 2
  • Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane between FM 487 and Bell County Line. The FM 487 entrance ramp will also be closed.
    • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 through Wednesday, Oct. 3

I-35 AT FM 3406

  • North and southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at FM 3406
    • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 through Wednesday, Oct. 3

I-35 FROM US 79 TO SH 45 NORTH

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Gattis School Road and RM 620
    • From 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 through Friday, Oct. 5
  • Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between US 79 and RM 620
    • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

  • Powell Lane closed at I-35. Use Wonsley Drive
    • Through winter 2018
  • Northbound I-35 exit #241 closed at Rundberg Ln and alternating frontage road closures between US 183 and Little Walnut Creek.
    • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Saturday, September 29 through Thursday, Oct. 4
  • Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Huntland Drive and US 290E
    • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, September 30 through Thursday, Oct. 4
  • Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at Blackson Avenue
    • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1 through Tuesday, Oct. 2

I-35 AT OLTORF STREET

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at Oltorf Street. Watch for flaggers.
    • From 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 through Friday, Oct. 5
  • Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Oltorf Street and St. Edwards Drive. Watch for flaggers.
    • From 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 through Friday, Oct. 5
  • Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane under Oltorf Street
    • From 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 through Thursday, Oct. 4

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

  • Northbound I-35 left lane closed at William Cannon Drive
    • From 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29
  • North to southbound I-35 U-turn bridge closed at Stassney Lane
    • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 through Wednesday, Oct. 3
  • North to southbound I-35 U-turn bridge closed at William Cannon Drive
    • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 through Wednesday, Oct. 3
  • Eastbound William Cannon Drive reduced to one lane at I-35
    • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30 through Wednesday, Oct. 3

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at Center Point Road.
    • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1
  • Southbound I-35 right lane closed between SH 123 and RM 12
    • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 through Wednesday, Oct. 3
  • Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between 7th Street and 8th Street
    • From 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29
