Hill Country Galleria Poised For Big Back-To-School Sale On Texas Tax-Free Weekend

AUSTIN, TX — In time for the upcoming tax-free weekend, officials at Hill Country Galleria are pulling out all the stops with a planned Back-To-School Shopping Event.

Located west of downtown Austin in the Texas Hill Country, the mall will feature a property-wide sidewalk sale of back-to-school goods throughout the tax-free weekend, planned from Aug. 11-13. The state periodically stages tax-free weekends prior to the return to school to boost retailers' sales and give parents a break from paying sales taxes.

The event will serve as something of a coming-out party for the mall, which recently unveiled a multi-million dollar property transformation in the spring, offering a more vibrant, comfortable and convenient shopping and entertainment destination. The renovations added in features including landscaping upgrades, more shaded areas, new walkways and a new entertainment district, Central Plaza, featuring a grassy lawn, new splash pad and additional outdoor seating.

In addition to the planned sidewalk sale, the event will feature a treasure hunt on Friday, Aug. 11, during which time guests will follow clues posted to the Hill Country Galleria Instagram account to find $100 gift cards hidden in secret locations across the property, officials said.

But wait, there's more: Shoppers who spend $150 on tax-free eligible items on Friday, Aug. 11, and Saturday, August 12, can receive a $20 Hill Country Galleria gift card.* Retailers such as H&M, Dillard's, Banana Republic, Justice, Dick's Sporting Goods and many more will be offering specials on back-to-school favorites.

The event runs Friday (Aug. 11) and Saturday (Aug. 12) from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday (Aug. 13) from noon to 6 p.m. The Hill Country Galleria is located at 12700 Hill Country Blvd. in Bee Cave, Texas.
