Good morning, neighbors! It's Jessica here, right on time with your Wednesday edition of the Austin Daily, filled with all the local information you need to know.

Settle in while we cover:

  • Broken Spoke could become a historical landmark.
  • Community First! Village is adding 1,400 homes for our houseless community.
  • Have your "I voted" sticker? Learn where to get your voting freebies.

But first, today's weather:

Partly sunny and pleasant. High: 78 Low: 66.

📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Austin who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Austin Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top stories in Austin today:

1) Austin's famed honky-tonk bar, Broken Spoke, could become a historical landmark. George Strait, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson and, most recently, Kacey Musgraves, are just a few of the famous names that have visited the renowned dance hall since it opened its doors back in 1964. On Thursday, Austin City Council will discuss a resolution that would designate Broken Spoke as a "historical landmark" under city code. KVUE has more on this story here.

2) Feel-good news: Community First! Village is expanding to continue fighting homelessness in Austin. Community Impact reports: "Nonprofit Mobile Loaves & Fishes celebrated the groundbreaking of the 127-acre addition to its Community First! Village, an expansion that will add an estimated 1,400 homes for the formerly homeless across the Austin area." Community First! Village provides community, social services and housing for those experiencing chronic homelessness. Love to see our community step up for one another. Community Impact has more on this initiative.

3) Did you know that your "I voted" sticker gets you some freebies around town?! Well, now you do! Free pancakes, free coffee, free soup, and so much more. KXAN has a list of where you can snag your voting goodies — check it out.

4) The holiday season is officially upon us! The Zilker Holiday Tree will be installed today, and this year's tree lighting ceremony will be held on Sunday, Nov. 27. KVUE's got the scoop.
