Hundreds To Gather At Austin Capitol To Honor Fallen Construction Workers

Some 400 people from all over the state are expected to participate in rally from as far away as Houston, Dallas and the Rio Grande Valley.

AUSTIN, TX — More than 400 people from across the state are expected to rally at the state Capitol on March 1 to honor the lives of fallen construction workers in Texas.

A construction worker dies every three days in Texas, according to a study done in collaboration with the University of Texas. Workers Defense Project members will be joined at the rally by families from across the state to remember the loves ones they lost at construction sites.

Buses filled with people will be departing from Houston, Dallas and the Rio Grande Valley for the rally at the Capitol. The event is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. fronting the J.J. Pickle Federal Building, 903 San Jacinto Boulevard and then on to the Capitol.
