Indian Cloud Software Firm Zoho Moving U.S. HQ To Austin

Plans call for construction of a 375-acre campus with a centerpiece 100,000-square-foot building in Southeast Austin by 2021.

AUSTIN, TX — Indian cloud software and SaaS provider Zoho plans to move its U.S. headquarters from Pleasanton, California, to Austin where it will build a 375-acre campus with a centerpiece 100,000-square-foot building in Southeast Austin by 2021, company officials announced on Monday.

Zoho’s global headquarters is in Chennai, India. The planned Austin campus will create hundreds of new jobs, company officials said. In addition to the corporate presence, the company also will launch a U.S. satellite of the company's flagship Zoho University from which roughly 15 percent of the firm's engineering workforce is derived.

Founded by Sridhar Vembu and Tony Thomas in Pleasanton, California, Zoho employs more than 7,000 workers in 12 offices throughout the world, including in India, China, Japan, Mexico and other countries. The company has more than 300,000 corporate customers, and its services reach more than 45 million users across 180 countries, according to a press advisory. Zoho officials said the company experienced a 39 percent growth in revenue last year.
