Interstate 35 Lane Closures For Aug. 3-9, 2019

AUSTIN, TX — Texas Department of Transportation officials released their weekly list of Interstate 35 closures, a compilation that yields a useful primer for drivers hoping to avoid potential traffic congestion.

The latest TxDot list is for Aug. 3 to Aug. 9. Here is the list of lane closures:

I-35 AT CR 305

• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from Bell County to Avenue J
  • Sunday, Aug. 4 through Friday, Aug. 9 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM CORN HILL (BUD STOCKTON LOOP) TO FM 972

• North and southbound I-35 frontage roads reduced to one lane from FM 972 to Bud Stockton Loop
  • Until further notice

I-35 AT RONALD REAGAN BOULEVARD

• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from Ronald Reagan Boulevard to CR 143
  • Sunday, Aug. 4 through Friday, Aug. 9 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406

• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from FM 3406 (Old Settlers Boulevard) to RM 1431 (University Boulevard). Exit #256 will also be closed as needed.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 6 through Friday, Aug. 9 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Southbound I-35 left lane closed nightly from US 183 to St. Johns Avenue
  • Monday, Aug. 5 through Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 closures nightly from 51st Street to St. Johns Avenue
  • Monday, Aug. 5 through Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• North and southbound I-35 frontage closures nightly at St. Johns Avenue
  • Monday, Aug. 5 through Friday, Aug. 9 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• North and southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from US 183 to US 290 East
  • Wednesday, Aug. 7 through Friday, Aug. 9 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• St. Johns Avenue bridge closed at I-35
  • Until further notice
• Powell Lane closed at I-35
  • Until further notice

I-35 AT OLTORF STREET

• Northbound I-35 right lane closed from Woodward Street to Oltorf Street. The Oltorf Street exit (#232) will also be closed.
  • Sunday, Aug. 4 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road closures nightly from Woodward Street to Oltorf Street
  • Sunday, Aug. 4 through Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 auxiliary lane closed nightly from Woodward Street to Oltorf Street
  • Monday, Aug. 5 through Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road closures nightly from Oltorf Street to Woodward Street
  • Tuesday, Aug. 6 through Friday, Aug. 9 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 auxiliary lane closed from Algarita Avenue to Woodward Street. The entrance ramp north of Oltorf Street will also be closed.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road closures at Oltorf Street
  • Thursday, Aug. 8 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Watch for flaggers on southbound I-35 frontage road at Oltorf Street
  • Thursday, Aug. 8 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• North and southbound I-35 closed nightly at Stassney Lane. The southbound entrance ramp at Stassney Lane and the northbound entrance ramps at William Cannon will also be closed.
  • Friday, Aug. 2 through Sunday, Aug. 4 from 11 p.m. until 10 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily at Little Texas Lane
  • Monday, Aug. 5 through Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road closed daily at Boggy Creek Drive
  • Monday, Aug. 5 through Friday, Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly from William Cannon Drive to Boggy Creek Drive
  • Wednesday, Aug. 7 through Friday, Aug. 9 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Stassney Lane closed nightly at I-35. The Stassney Lane U-turns will also be closed.
  • Friday, Aug. 2 through Sunday, Aug. 4 from 8 p.m. until 10 a.m.
• Westbound Stassney right turn lane closed daily at I-35
  • Monday, Aug. 5 through Friday, Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from William Cannon Drive to Foremost Drive
  • Through late summer 2019
• Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from William Cannon Drive to Stassney Lane

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

• Northbound I-35 exit ramps at Posey Road (#199) and Centerpoint Road (#200) are closed. The southbound I-35 entrance ramp south of Posey Road is also closed.

MAINTENANCE PROJECTS

• North and southbound I-35 flyover ramps at SH 71 nightly closures
  • Sunday, Aug. 4 through Friday, Aug. 9 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 auxiliary lane at Wells Branch Parkway closed. The entrance ramp from Howard Lane will also be closed.
  • Monday, Aug. 5 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from Berrywood Drive to VFW Road
  • Monday, Aug. 5 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
