Interstate 35 Lane Closures Aug. 22-28, 2020

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transporation released its weekly list of road closures, which provides a helpful primer for drivers. By checking the list ahead of time before travel, motorists are able to avoid areas of potential congestion.

The latest list cover Aug. 22-28.

I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)

• Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from Jeffrey Way to the RM 1431 exit (#256)
  • Through early 2021

I-35 FROM GRAND AVENUE PARKWAY TO SH 45 NORTH

• Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane nightly from Grand Avenue Parkway to SH 45 North
  • Sunday, Aug. 23 through Tuesday, Aug. 25 from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road closed nightly at Picadilly Drive
  • Sunday, Aug. 23 through Tuesday, Aug. 25 from 12 a.m. until 3 a.m.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Southbound US 183 Cameron Road exit closed
  • Through September
• Northbound US 183 frontage road reduced to one lane from I-35 to Gessner Drive
  • Through September
• Southbound US 183 frontage road closed from I-35 to Providence Avenue
  • Sunday, Aug. 23 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane nightly from Wonsley Drive to US 183
  • Sunday, Aug. 23 through Thursday, Aug. 27 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 right two lanes closed nightly from Powell Lane to US 183. The Rundberg entrance ramp will also be closed.
  • Sunday, Aug. 23 through Thursday, Aug. 27 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound and southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane nightly from Blackson Avenue to Huntland Drive
  • Sunday, Aug. 23 through Thursday, Aug. 27 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound US 183 frontage road reduced to one lane nightly from Rutherford Lane to Cameron Road
  • Sunday, Aug. 23 through Wednesday, Aug. 26 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound and southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane daily from Huntland Drive to US 183
  • Monday, Aug. 24 through Friday, Aug. 28 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound US 183 frontage road closed nightly from I-35 to Providence Avenue
  • Monday, Aug. 24 through Thursday, Aug. 27 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane from Slaughter Lane to William Cannon Drive. The William Cannon Drive entrance ramp will also be closed.

• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from William Cannon Drive to Chaparral Road

• Westbound William Cannon Drive right lane closed daily at the I-35 frontage road
  • Monday, Aug. 24 through Saturday, Aug. 29 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

• Posey Road bridge closed at I-35
  • Until further notice
• Northbound I-35 Posey Road exit (#199) and Centerpoint Road exit (#200) are closed

• Southbound I-35 Posey Road exit (#199) and York Creek Road exit (#196) are closed

• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from Centerpoint Road to York Creek Road
  • Friday, Aug. 21 through Saturday, Aug. 22 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound and southbound I-35 right lane closed nightly from York Creek Road to Centerpoint Road. Multiple ramps will also be closed.

I-35 MAINTENANCE PROJECTS

• Northbound I-35 RM 620 exit (#252B) closed nightly
  • Monday, Aug. 24 through Tuesday, Aug. 25 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from Concordia Avenue to Luther Lane
  • Through December
• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from River Ridge Parkway to Yarrington Road. Multiple ramps will also be closed.
  • Sunday, Aug. 23 through Monday, Aug. 24 from 8:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.
