Interstate 35 Lane Closures For Aug. 31-Sept. 6, 2019
Texas Department of Transportation releases list of highway lane closures to help motorists navigate around planned road work.
AUSTIN, TX — Traffic in the capital city of Texas is bad enough, even more frustrating when motorists encounter road work. To prevent such annoyance — and to help you reach your destination in time — the Texas Department of Transportation each week releases a list of road work along Interstate 35 in providing a helpful travel primer.
Here are the I-35 lane closures for Aug. 31 through Sept. 6:
I-35 FROM CORN HILL (BUD STOCKTON LOOP) TO FM 972

- North and southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from FM 972 to Bud Stockton Loop
- Until further notice
I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)
- Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from FM 3406 (Old Settlers Boulevard) to RM 1431 (University Boulevard)
- Through late 2020
I-35 AT PARMER LANE

- Northbound I-35 frontage road left two lanes closed at Parmer Lane
- Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST
- Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from Rundberg Lane to Rutherford Lane
- Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Thursday, Sept. 5 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
- North and southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly at US 183
- Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Thursday, Sept. 5 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
- Southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane nightly at Providence Avenue
- Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Thursday, Sept. 5 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
- Northbound I-35 left two lanes closed nightly from US 290 East to St. Johns Avenue
- Wednesday, Sept. 4 through Thursday, Sept. 5 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
I-35 AT OLTORF STREET
- Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily at St. Edwards Drive
- Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
- Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily from Mariposa Drive to Oltorf Street
- Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily from SH 71 to Woodward Street
- Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE
- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily at Little Texas Lane
- Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly at Slaughter Lane. The Slaughter Lane exit ramp will also be closed.
- Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
- Northbound I-35 left two lanes closed from Stassney Lane to Woodward Street
- Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
- Southbound I-35 left lane closed at Stassney Lane
- Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m.
- Southbound I-35 right two lanes closed at Stassney Lane. The Stassney Lane entrance ramp will also be closed.
- Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m.
I-35 AT POSEY ROAD
- Southbound I-35 frontage road temporarily converted to a two-way configuration between Posey Road and York Creek Road. The frontage road just north of H&H Industrial Park will be closed to through traffic.
- Friday, Sept. 6 at 9 p.m. through Monday, Sept 9 at 5 a.m.
- Northbound I-35 exit ramps at Posey Road (#199) and Centerpoint Road (#200) are closed. The southbound I-35 entrance ramp south of Posey Road is also closed.

MAINTENANCE PROJECTS
- Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly for paving from the Bell County line to SH 195
- Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 8 p.m. until 5:30 a.m.
- Northbound I-35 left two lanes closed from Hesters Crossing to US 79
- Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
- Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from Kyle Crossing to Cabela's Drive. Ramps will also be closed as needed.
- Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
