Interstate 35 Lane Closures For Feb. 23-March 1, 2019

AUSTIN, TEXAS — As they do each week, the Texas Department of Transportation has released its list of lane closures along Interstate 35 for the week ahead. The list yields a handy travel primer for motorists, alerting to areas where road work is planned while enabling drivers to plan their routes accordingly in avoiding potential congestion.

The latest list covers planned closures from Feb. 23 to March 1. A bonus this week: Key closures in Comal County! Here's the latest tally:

I-35 AT COUNTY ROAD 305

• I-35 frontage road left lane closed in both directions at County Road 305
  • Through spring 2019

I-35 AT FM 3406

• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed across FM 3406
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24 through Thursday, Feb. 28
• Eastbound FM 3406 left lane closed between Chisholm Trail and I-35
  • From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25 through Thursday, Feb. 28

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• St. Johns Avenue reduced to one lane in each direction at I-35
  • Long term closure
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Huntland Drive and US 290 East
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24 through Thursday, Feb. 28
• Southbound I-35 U-turn closed at US 183
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24 through Thursday, Feb. 28
• I-35 left lane closed in both directions between US 290 E and US 183
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24 through Thursday, Feb. 28
• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane between Wonsley Drive and St. Johns Avenue

• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between US 183 and St. Johns Avenue

• Fenelon Dr closed east of I-35. Use Rutherford Lane or Hermitage Drive.

I-35 AT OLTORF STREET

• Southbound I-35 frontage road closed between Woodland Avenue and the Woodward Street Exit. Watch for flaggers.
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23
• Southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane between St. Edward Drive and Woodward Street
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25 through Friday, March 1
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed at Royal Hill Drive
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26 through Thursday, Feb. 28

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between the William Cannon Drive exit and Boggy Creek Drive
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25 through Friday, March 1
• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between William Cannon Drive and Foremost Drive
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25 through Friday, March 1
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at Nelms Drive

• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between 38th Street and 32nd St in Travis County
  • From 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25 through Friday, March 1
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at North San Gabriel River Trail in Williamson County
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25 through Tuesday, Feb. 26
• Northbound I-35 exit #264 reduced to one lane at Austin Avenue in Williamson County

COMAL COUNTY CLOSURES

• I-35 closed intermittently in both directions between FM 306 and Conrads Lane
  • From 7 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24
• I-35 closed in both directions at FM 1103. Exit #178 will also be closed.
  • From 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 through Friday, March 1
