Interstate 35 Lane Closures For Jan. 19-25, 2019

Texas Department of Transportation releases its weekly list of lanes slated for closure as a heads up for driver to alert them of hot spots.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Each week, the Texas Department of Transporation releases a list of lane closures scheduled along Interstate 35. What this does is yield a useful primer for motorists in knowing ahead of time what spots to avoid or be aware of in terms of possible congestion or slowed traffic.

The latest list covers lane closures slated between Jan. 19-25:

I-35 AT COUNTY ROAD 305

  • I-35 frontage road left lane closed in both directions at County Road 305
    • Through spring 2019

I-35 AT FM 3406

  • North to southbound I-35 U-turn closed at FM 3406
    • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, January 20 through Monday, January 21
  • Northbound I-35 left lane closed under FM 3406
    • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, January 20 through Monday, January 21
  • Various I-35 frontage road closures at FM 3406
    • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, January 21 through Thursday, January 24

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

  • St. Johns Avenue reduced to one lane in both directions across I-35
    • Until further notice
  • Hermitage Drive closed at the northbound I-35 frontage road. Use detour.
    • Closed until Wednesday, January 23
  • Wonsley Drive closed at I-35
    • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, January 21

I-35 AT OLTORF STREET

  • Northbound I-35 right lane closed between Woodland Avenue and Riverside Drive
    • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, January 20 through Tuesday, January 22
  • Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between St. Edwards Drive and Woodward Street
    • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, January 21
  • Southbound I-35 right lane closed at the Riverside Drive entrance ramp
    • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, January 22 through Wednesday, January 23

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

  • Alternating southbound I-35 closures in both directions between SH 71 and Slaughter Lane
    • From 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, January 20 through Monday, January 21
  • Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Colonial Park Boulevard and Williamson Creek
    • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, January 21 through Tuesday, January 22
  • Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between the William Cannon Drive exit ramp and Boggy Creek Drive
