Interstate 35 Lane Closures For Jan. 5-11, 2019

AUSTIN, TEXAS — As is their weekly custom, Texas Department of Transportation officials have released a list of Interstate 35 lanes slated for closures in the coming week for construction or revamping. This list yields a handy primer for motorists, enabling them to sidestep such potentially congested spots to ensure smoother commute time.

The latest list covers the period from Jan. 5 to Jan. 11. Know your lane closures ahead of time! Here is the latest batch of closures:

I-35 AT COUNTY ROAD 305

• I-35 frontage road left lane closed in both directions at County Road 305
  • Through Spring 2019

I-35 AT FM 3406

• Expect I-35 frontage road closures in both directions at FM 3406
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 through Thursday, Jan. 10

I-35 FROM US 79 TO SH 45 NORTH

• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between US 79 and RM 620
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7 through Friday, Jan. 11
• Northbound I-35 entrance ramp closed at Hesters Crossing
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 through Friday, Jan. 11

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Northbound I-35 entrance ramp closed at US 290 E
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 through Monday, Jan. 7
• South to northbound I-35 U-turn closed at US 183
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 through Thursday, Jan. 10
• Southbound I-35 left lane closed between US 183 and US 290 E
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 through Thursday, Jan. 10
• Alternating southbound I-35 closures between US 183 and St. Johns Avenue
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 through Thursday, Jan. 10
• Northbound I-35 left lane closed between US 290 E and St. Johns Avenue
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 through Thursday, Jan. 10
• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between US 183 and St. Johns Avenue
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7 through Thursday, Jan. 10
• Southbound I-35 exit closed at Koenig Lane
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 through Wednesday, Jan. 9
• Northbound I-35 frontage road closed at St. Johns Avenue. Follow detour route.
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 through Wednesday, Jan. 9
• Alternating southbound I-35 frontage road closures between Huntland Drive and US 290 East
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 through Wednesday, Jan. 9
• Southbound I-35 right lane closed between Rundberg Lane and US 183
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 through Thursday, Jan. 10
• I-35 south to northbound U-turn closed at US 290 East
  • Beginning Thursday, Jan. 10 at 5 a.m. through Wednesday, April 10
• St. Johns Avenue reduced to one lane in both directions across I-35
  • Until further notice

I-35 AT OLTORF STREET

• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane between Woodland Avenue and Woodward Street. The Oltorf Street entrance ramp and Woodward Street exit ramp will also be closed.
  • From 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 through Monday, Jan. 7
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between SH 71 and Woodward Street
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 through Friday, Jan. 11 and from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 through Thursday, Jan. 10

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at William Cannon Drive
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 through Monday, Jan. 7
• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed at William Cannon Drive
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7 through Friday, Jan. 11
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Boggy Creek Drive and William Cannon Drive
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7 through Friday, Jan. 11
• William Cannon Drive closed at I-35
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 through Monday, Jan. 7
