Interstate 35 Lane Closures: July 20-26, 2019

AUSTIN, TX — As it does each week, the Texas Department of Transportation released its weekly list of Interstate 35 lane closures. This yields a handy traveling guide for drivers to plot out alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

The latest list covers the period between July 20-26.

FULL MAINLANE CLOSURES ON US 183 AT I-35 IN TRAVIS COUNTY STARTING THIS WEEKEND

From Friday, July 19 at 9 p.m. through Monday, July 22 at 5 a.m., northbound US 183 will be closed just past Cameron Road. With northbound traffic closed, crews will set steel beams for the new southbound I-35 to southbound US 183 flyover. Drivers are urged to use US 290 East to avoid the closure.

I-35 AT CR 305

• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from CR 305 to Bud Stockton Loop
  • Sunday, July 21 through Friday, July 26 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m

I-35 FROM CORN HILL (BUD STOCKTON LOOP) TO FM 972

• North and southbound I-35 frontage roads reduced to one lane from FM 972 to Bud Stockton Loop

• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from Lakeway Drive to Ronald Reagan Boulevard

• Northbound I-35 closed at US 183

• Northbound US 183 closed from Cameron Road to I-35

• Northbound US 183 reduced to one lane nightly at I-35

• Southbound US 183 left lane closed nightly from I-35 to Providence Avenue

• Northbound I-35 left lane closed from Woodward Street to Royal Hill Drive

• Southbound I-35 frontage road closed as needed daily from Algarita Drive to Oltorf Street. Watch for flaggers.
  • Monday, July 22 through Tuesday, July 23 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• North and southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily at Oltorf Street
  • Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Eastbound Oltorf Street right lane closed daily at I-35

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from William Cannon Drive to Stassney Lane

• Southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from William Cannon Drive to Foremost Drive
  • Through July 2019
• North and southbound I-35 flyover ramps closed as needed at SH 71
  • Sunday, July 21 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly from William Cannon Drive to Boggy Creek Drive
  • Sunday, July 21 through Tuesday, July 23 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly from Chaparral Road to Corral Lane
  • Tuesday, July 23 through Friday, July 26 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane from Slaughter Lane to the William Cannon Drive and Stassney Lane exit (#229). The exit will be closed permanently.

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

• Northbound I-35 exit ramps at Posey Road (#199) and Centerpoint Road (#200) are closed. The southbound I-35 entrance ramp south of Posey Road is also closed.
