Interstate 35 Lane Closures For July 3-10, 2020

AUSTIN, TX — Call this the Fourth of July holiday edition Interstate 35 lanes closures guide. The Texas Department of Transportation has issued its latest list of scheduled lane closures planned for the coming days, yielding a helpful driving primer for savvy motorists.

By checking the list beforehand, drivers are able to know ahead of time when closures are planned. That way, the savviest among us who drive are able to avoid potential traffic congestion.
The latest list is for July 3-1o, and here are those imminent lane closures:

I-35 AT RONALD REAGAN BOULEVARD

• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly at Ronald Reagan Boulevard
  • Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 9 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 AT NORTHWEST BOULEVARD

• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane at Northwest Boulevard
  • Monday, July 6 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane at Northwest Boulevard
  • Tuesday, July 7 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane at Northwest Boulevard
  • Wednesday, July 8 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)

• Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from Jeffrey Way to the RM 1431 exit
  • Through early 2021

RM 620 ROUNDABOUT (I-35 TO DEEP WOOD DRIVE)

• Eastbound and westbound RM 620 reduced to one lane nightly from I-35 to Chisholm Trail
  • Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 9 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Northbound US 183 frontage road left lane closed from I-35 to Gessner Drive
  • Through mid-July
• Eastbound and westbound Rutherford Lane closed continuously at the I-35 frontage road
  • Through mid-July
• Southbound US183 Cameron Road exit closed
  • Through mid-July
• Southbound US 183 frontage road closed nightly from I-35 to Carver Avenue
  • Sunday, July 5 through Thursday, July 9 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from Blackson Avenue to Huntland Drive
  • Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 9 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Eastbound and westbound St. Johns Avenue closed at I-35
  • Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 9 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound US 183 closed from the I-35/Lamar Boulevard exit to the Cameron Road entrance ramp. The Cameron Road entrance ramp will also be closed.
  • Tuesday, July 7 from 8 p.m. until 5:30 a.m.
• Northbound US 183 frontage road closed from Norwood Park Boulevard to I-35
  • Wednesday, July 8 from 2:30 a.m. until 5:30 a.m.

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

• Posey Road bridge closed at I-35
  • Until further notice
• Northbound I-35 exit closed continuously at Centerpoint Road (#200)
  • Until further notice
• Southbound I-35 left lane closed continuously from Centerpoint Road to York Creek Road
  • Through late July

I-35 MAINTENANCE PROJECTS

• Northbound and southbound I-35 reduced to one lane in each direction from Williams Drive to Lakeway Drive
  • Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 9 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily from Crown Colony Drive to Slaughter Creek Overpass
  • Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10 from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from Onion Creek Parkway to Boca Raton Drive
  • Monday, July 6 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
