Interstate 35 Lane Closures June 13-19, 2020

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation has released its latest list of weekly lane closures along Interstate 35, yielding a helpful driving primer for those wishing to avoid potential traffic congestion. By checking the list ahead of time, motorists are able to avoid areas along the highway where work is being conducted.

The latest list is for June 13-19.

There are a couple of closings warranting special attention this week. On Sunday (June 14) at 11 p.m., crews will close the I-35 main lanes in both directions in between Chaparral Road and Slaughter Lane, transportation officials said. Drivers will detour to the northbound I-35 frontage road at the William Cannon Drive/Stassney Lane exit, and will reenter the northbound main lanes at the entrance ramp near Boggy Creek Drive.

Drivers heading southbound will detour to the frontage road at the Slaughter Lane exit (#227), and will re-enter the southbound mainlanes at the next available entrance ramp.

Work that started on another key project on Saturday night continues through Sunday as the southbound I-35 mainlanes at Posey Road will be reduced to one lane at 8:30 p.m. to prepare for the full closure. At 10:30 p.m., each night, the southbound I-35 mainlanes will fully close. Traffic will detour to the southbound I-35 frontage road via the Posey Road exit (#199) and will re-enter the I-35 mainlanes at the entrance ramp south of York Creek Road. All lanes will reopen to traffic as work is completed, but no later than 8 a.m. each morning.

I-35 FROM CORN HILL (BUD STOCKTON LOOP) TO FM 972

• Southbound I-35 right lane closed nightly at Bud Stockton Loop. The Ronald Reagan Boulevard exit (#273) and Bud Stockton Loop entrance ramp will also be closed.

• Southbound I-35 right lane closed at CR 143. The CR 143 entrance ramp will also be closed.

• Eastbound Parmer Lane bridge right lane closed at I-35

• Northbound US 183 frontage road left lane closed from I-35 to Gessner Drive

• Eastbound and westbound Rutherford Lane closed continuously at the I-35 frontage road
