Interstate 35 Lane Closures For June 27-July 3, 2020

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation has issued its weekly list of lane closures along Interstate 35, yielding helpful driving guide for motorists. Motorists are able to know where construction or maintenance is scheduled to be performed by checking the list in advance, averting possible traffic congestion as a result in finding alternate routes to reach their destinations.

The latest list of lane closures covers the period between June 27-July 3.

I-35 AT RONALD REAGAN BOULEVARD

Beginning on Sunday at 9 p.m., the northbound and southbound I-35 main lanes will be closed at Ronald Reagan Boulevard on alternating nights, as crews set beams for the new eastbound bridge. Traffic will detour to the frontage road and all lanes will reopen to traffic no later than 5 a.m. each morning.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

On Sunday, June 28 at 11 p.m., crews will close the I-35 main lanes in both directions between William Cannon Drive and Slaughter Lane. Drivers will detour to the northbound I-35 frontage road at the William Cannon Drive/Stassney Lane exit (#228) and will re-enter the northbound main lanes at the entrance ramp near Boggy Creek Drive. Drivers heading southbound will detour to the frontage road at the Slaughter Lane exit (#227) and will re-enter the southbound main lanes at the next available entrance ramp.

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

On Wednesday at 9 p.m., the southbound I-35 main lanes will close at Posey Road. Traffic will detour to the southbound I-35 frontage road via the Posey Road exit (#199) and will re-enter the I-35 main lanes at the entrance ramp just south of Posey Road. All lanes will reopen to traffic as work is completed, but no later than 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)

• Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from Jeffrey Way to the RM 1431 exit ramp

RM 620 ROUNDABOUT (I-35 TO DEEP WOOD DRIVE)

• Eastbound and westbound RM 620 reduced to one lane from Brentwood Street to Lake Creek Drive
  • Tuesday, June 30 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Northbound US 183 frontage road left lane closed from I-35 to Gessner Drive
  • Through mid-July
• Southbound US 183 Cameron Road exit closed

• Eastbound and westbound Rutherford Lane closed continuously at the I-35 frontage road
  • Through mid-July
• Northbound and southbound I-35 left lane closed nightly from Rundberg Lane to St. Johns Avenue

• Northbound US 183 frontage road left lane closed from Cameron Road to Norwood Park Boulevard. The I-35/Lamar Boulevard exit and Cameron Road entrance ramp will also be closed.

• Southbound US 183 frontage road closed nightly from I-35 to Carver Avenue

I-35 AT OLTORF STREET

• Southbound I-35 right two lanes closed nightly from Woodland Avenue to Stassney Lane. Multiple entrance and exit ramps will also be closed in the project area.
