Interstate 35 Lane Closures For June 29-July 5, 2019

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation has released its weekly list of scheduled lane closures along Interstate 35. The list yields something of a travel guide for drivers, giving them a heads up on potential traffic congestion.

This TxDot lane closures list covers the period between June 29 to July 5.

I-35 FROM CORN HILL (BUD STOCKTON LOOP) TO FM 972

• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly between FM 972 and Lakeway Drive. Ramps will also be closed as needed.
  • Sunday, June 30 through Wednesday, July 3 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• North and southbound I-35 frontage roads reduced to one lane from FM 972 to Bud Stockton Loop
  • Until further notice

I-35 AT FM 3406

• North and southbound I-35 frontage roads reduced to one lane nightly with alternating closures on FM 3406
  • Sunday, June 30 through Wednesday, July 3 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM US 79 TO SH 45 NORTH

• McNeil Road closed nightly at I-35
  • Sunday, June 30 through Wednesday, July 3 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• St. Johns Avenue bridge closed at I-35
  • Through late summer 2019
• South to northbound U-turn closed at US 183
  • Until further notice
• Southbound I-35 right auxillary lane closed nightly between US 183 and St. Johns Avenue
  • Sunday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 3 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly between US 183 and St. Johns Avenue
  • Sunday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 3 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly between US 290 East and St. Johns Avenue. The entrance ramp will also be closed.
  • Sunday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 3 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 AT OLTORF STREET

• Southbound I-35 closed between Oltorf Street and SH 71. Traffic will detour to the frontage road and proceed to the next ramp. The entrance ramps between Woodland Avenue and Woodward Street will also be closed.
  • Saturday, June 28 from 11 p.m. until 10 a.m.
• Woodward Street closed at I-35. Use other crossovers.
  • Saturday, June 29 from 10 p.m. until 10 a.m.
• Expect southbound I-35 frontage road closures between Woodland Avenue and Oltorf Street
  • Saturday, June 29 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily between St. Edwards Drive and Woodward Street
  • Monday, July 1 through Tuesday, July 2 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• Southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane between William Cannon Drive and Foremost Drive
  • Through July 2019
• Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane between the entrance ramp north of William Cannon Drive and Stassney Lane
  • Monday, July 1 through Thursday, August 2
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed at Boggy Creek Drive
  • Saturday, June 29 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Monday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 3 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

• Posey Road closed at I-35
  • Until further notice
• Northbound I-35 Posey Road exit ramp (#199) and Centerpoint Road exit ramp (#200) are closed. The southbound I-35 entrance ramp south of Posey Road is also closed.
  • Until further notice

MAINTENANCE PROJECTS

• Northbound I-35 right lane closed between Holly Street and 6th Street. The 6th Street exit will also be closed.
  • Monday, July 1 from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.
• North and southbound I-35 frontage road closures nightly between Bell County and Travis County
  • Sunday, June 30 through Wednesday, July 3 from 9 p.m until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 right lane closed nightly between Grand Avenue Parkway and the next entrance ramp
  • Monday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 3 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane nightly between Hesters Crossing and RM 620. The RM 620 exit will also be closed.
  • Sunday, June 30 through Wednesday, July 3 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
