Interstate 35 Lane Closures For May 16-22, 2020

The Texas Department of Transportation has released its list of weekly lane closures along the key artery, yielding a handy driving primer.

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation on Friday released its weekly list of lane closures scheduled for Interstate 35, yielding helpful primer for motorists seeking to avoid potential traffic congestion.

The latest list is for the period between May 16-22.

I-35 FROM CORN HILL (BUD STOCKTON LOOP) TO FM 972

  • Southbound I-35 entrance ramp permanently closed at Ronald Reagan Boulevard
    • Until further notice
  • Northbound I-35 left two lanes closed nightly at Ronald Reagan Boulevard
    • Sunday, May 17 through Thursday, May 21 from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.
  • Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane from FM 972 to Lakeway Drive
    • Sunday, May 17 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
  • Southbound I-35 reduced to two lanes nightly from FM 972 to SH 195
    • Monday, May 18 through Thursday, May 21 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.

I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from Jeffrey Way to the RM 1431 exit ramp
    • Through early 2021

  • Northbound I-35 entrance ramp closed nightly at Slaughter Lane
    • Sunday, May 17 through Monday, May 18 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • Southbound I-35 exit ramp closed at William Cannon Drive
    • Sunday, May 17 from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.
  • Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane from the Slaughter Creek Overpass to Slaughter Lane. The Slaughter Creek Overpass entrance ramp will also be closed.
