Interstate 35 Lane Closures For May 18-24, 2019

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation issues a weekly list of lane closures along Interstate 35, yielding a handy guide for motorists in getting around potential congestion. This week's list covers the period of May 18-24.

I-35 FROM FROM BUD STOCKTON LOOP TO FM 972

• North and southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane daily from FM 972 to Bud Stockton Loop
  • Through Sunday, September 1 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 right lane closed at CR 143 bridge
  • Sunday, May 19 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• The I-35 frontage roads permanently converted to one-way between Bud Stockton Loop and FM 972 in Williamson County. The frontage roads will also be reduced to one lane for several months.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• North to southbound I-35 U-turn closed at US 183
  • Through Friday, June 7
• Northbound I-35 left lane closed nightly from US 290 East to US 183
  • Sunday, May 19 through Friday, May 24 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 right lane closed nightly between US 183 and St. Johns Avenue
  • Wednesday, May 22 through Friday, May 24 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed nightly between Barwood Park and Wonsley Drive
  • Sunday, May 19 through Friday, May 24 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly between Barwood Park and US 183
  • Sunday, May 19 through Tuesday, May 21 from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly between Hermitage Drive and US 183
  • Sunday, May 19 through Tuesday, May 21 from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly between US 290 and Rutherford Lane
  • Sunday, May 19 through Friday, May 24 from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 entrance ramp closed nightly at Powell Lane
  • Tuesday, May 21 through Friday, May 24 from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 closed nightly from Rundberg Lane to US 290 East
  • Friday, May 31 through Monday, June 3 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• St. Johns Avenue reduced to one lane across I-35

I-35 AT OLTORF STREET

• Various I-35 frontage road closures in both directions at Oltorf Street
  • Monday, May 20 through Thursday, May 23 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 right lane closed between Woodland Avenue and Oltorf Street. The entrance ramp before Oltorf Street will also be closed.
  • Tuesday, May 21 from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m.
• Watch for flaggers on the southbound I-35 frontage road between Woodland Avenue and Oltorf Street
  • Sunday, May 19 through Tuesday, May 21 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • Monday, May 20 through Thursday, May 23 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between SH 71 and Woodward Street
  • Wednesday, May 22 through Thursday, May 23 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 22 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 right lane closed between Woodward Street and Oltorf Street. The Oltorf Street exit #232 and following entrance ramp will also be closed.

• Alternating Oltorf Street closures in both directions nightly at I-35

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• Southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane between William Cannon Drive and Foremost Drive
  • Through Friday, June 7
• Southbound I-35 left lane closed daily from William Cannon Drive to Corral Lane
  • Through Friday, May 31 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Watch for flaggers on northbound I-35 frontage road at William Cannon Drive
  • Sunday, May 19 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily at William Cannon Drive
  • Monday, May 20 through Tuesday, May 21 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

• Posey Road bridge permanently closed over I-35
  • Beginning Monday, May 13 at 7 a.m
• Southbound I-35 right lane closed at Posey Road. The frontage road will also be closed.
  • Friday, May 17 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 mainlanes closed between Centerpoint Road and York Creek Road
  • Sunday, May 19 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• I-35 left lane closed in both directions nightly between York Creek Road and Centerpoint Road
  • Monday, May 20 through Friday, May 24 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 MAINTENANCE CLOSURES

• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane between 8th Street and Holly Street
  • Sunday, May 19 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 right lane and various ramps closed nightly between Holly Street and 15th Street
  • Monday, May 20 through Friday, May 24 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
