Interstate 35 Lane Closures From Nov. 30-Dec. 6, 2019

AUSTIN, TX — As the Christmas holidays near, traffic is sure to increase as people set out to holiday sales and gatherings. Fortunately, the Texas Department of Transportation issues a weekly list of planned lane closures along Interstate 35 — the city's busiest artery — in providing a helpful primer for drivers wanting to avoid potential congestion.

This week's list of I-35 lane closures covers the period between Nov. 30 to Dec. 6:

I-35 FROM CORN HILL (BUD STOCKTON LOOP) TO FM 972

• North and southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from FM 972 to Bud Stockton Loop
  • Until further notice

I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)

• Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from FM 3406 (Old Settlers Boulevard) to RM 1431 (University Boulevard)
  • Through late 2020

I-35 AT PARMER LANE

• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily at Parmer Lane
  • Through early 2020

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from Camino La Costa to St. Johns Avenue
  • Through mid-2020
• Northbound US 183 frontage road left lane closed from I-35 to Gessner Drive
  • Through mid-2020
• Southbound I-35 left lane closed at Rundberg Lane. The Rundberg Lane exit ramp (#241) will also be closed.
  • Monday, Dec. 2 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• North and southbound US 183 closed from Norwood Park Boulevard to I-35
  • Monday, Dec. 2 at 9 p.m. until Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 9 p.m.
• Northbound I-35 left lane closed nightly from US 290 East to Rutherford Lane
  • Monday Dec. 2 through Thursday, Dec. 5 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound US 183 exit ramp closed nightly at Cameron Road
  • Monday, Dec. 2 through Thursday, Dec. 5 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 closed from Braker Lane to US 183
  • Monday, Dec. 2 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 right lane closed from Powell Lane to US 183. The Rundberg Lane entrance ramp will also be closed.
  • Monday, Dec. 2 from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly from Hermitage Drive to Rundberg Lane. The Rundberg Lane entrance ramp will also be closed.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 3 through Thursday, Dec. 5 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 left two lanes closed nightly from Rutherford Lane to US 290 East
  • Tuesday, Dec. 3 through Thursday, Dec. 5 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road closed nightly from Blackson Avenue to St. Johns Avenue
  • Wednesday, Dec. 4 through Thursday, Dec. 5 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

• Southbound I-35 exit #200 for Centerpoint Road and northbound I-35 exit #201 for McCarty Lane closed
  • Thursday, Nov. 28 at 12 p.m. until Saturday, Nov. 30 at 10 p.m.
• Posey Road bridge closed at I-35
  • Until further notice
• Northbound I-35 exit #199 for Posey Road and exit #200 for Centerpoint Road are closed
  • Until further notice
• Northbound I-35 right shoulder closed at Posey Road
  • Through late 2019
