Interstate 35 Lane Closures For Oct. 13-19, 2018

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Each week, the Texas Department of Transportation issues a list of lane closures scheduled along Interstate 35 for paving, re-striping, maintenance and the like. More than just a compendium of activity, the list yields a helpful primer for motorists seeking to avoid such areas on their daily commute by plotting alternative paths to their destinations.

And so, without further ado, here is the list of I-35 lane closures for Oct. 13-19, 2018:

I-35 AT FM 3406

• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane at FM 3406
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 through Thursday, Oct. 18
• The north to southbound U-turn closed at FM 3406
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 through Tuesday, Oct. 16
• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane at FM 3406
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 and Thursday, Oct. 18
• Various closures southbound I-35 frontage road at FM 3406
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 and Thursday, Oct. 18

I-35 FROM US 79 TO SH 45 NORTH

• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at SH 45/Louis Henna Boulevard. The U-turn will also close.
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 and Thursday, Oct. 18

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Powell Lane closed at southbound I-35. Use Wonsley Drive.
  • Through winter 2018
• Clock Tower Drive closed at northbound US 183
  • Through winter 2018
• Carver Avenue closed at southbound US 183
  • Through winter 2018
• Northbound I-35 exit ramp to Rundberg Lane closed. Use other exit. Expect alternating frontage road closures. Frontage road will shift to new lanes.
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 through Tuesday, Oct. 16
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at US 290 E
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 through Tuesday, Oct. 16
• The south to northbound U-turn closed at I-35 and US 183
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 through Tuesday, Oct. 16
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Blackson Avenue and US 183
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 through Thursday, Oct. 18

I-35 AT OLTORF STREET

• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane at Oltorf Street. Traffic will detour via Woodland Ave/Oltorf Street exit ramp (232).
  • From 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15 and Tuesday, Oct. 16
• North and southbound I-35 fully closed between Oltorf Street and Woodland Avenue. Traffic will detour to the frontage road.
  • From 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17
• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane between Woodland Avenue exit ramp and the following entrance ramp
  • From 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18
• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane between Woodland Avenue and Oltorf Street
  • From 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• Northbound I-35 right lane closed between Slaughter Lane and William Cannon Drive
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 through Thursday, Oct. 18
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at William Cannon Drive
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15 through Friday, Oct. 19
• Southbound i-35 frontage road left lane closed at William Cannon Drive
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15 and Tuesday, Oct. 16
• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane between William Cannon Drive and Slaughter Creek overpass
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed at Stassney Lane
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16 through Thursday, Oct. 18
• I-35 frontage left lane closed in both directions at Stassney Lane
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 and Thursday, Oct. 18
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between William Cannon Drive and Nelms Road
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed by flaggers as needed between Woodward Street and Royal Hill Lane
  • From 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15 through Friday, Oct. 19

MAINTENANCE CLOSURES

• Southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane between FM 2001 and Robert S. Light Boulevard
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14
• Southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane between Kohlers Crossing and FM 1626
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15
• Southbound I-35 Airport Blvd exit (237) and frontage road left lane closed between Reinli Street and 49th Street. The 51st Street intersection bypass lane will also close.
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15
