Interstate 35 Lane Closures For Sept. 14-20, 2019

This week's list includes permanent closure of bridge at CR 305 to complete retaining wall needed to open new CR 305 bridge in WilCo.

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation released its weekly list of lane closures along Interstate 35, yielding a helpful navigation guide from drivers wanting to negotiate around potential congestion.

This week's list covers the period between Sept. 14-20.

On Monday, Sept. 16 at 7 a.m., the existing CR 305 bridge will be permanently closed to traffic in order to complete retaining wall work needed to open the new CR 305 bridge in Williamson County. The existing CR 305 bridge will be demolished at the end of September and the new bridge is set to open later this fall. During the closure, traffic traveling on the northbound I-35 frontage road will be detoured to Hill Road to U-turn to the southbound I-35 frontage road in order to access westbound CR 305. Additionally, traffic traveling on the southbound I-35 frontage road will be detoured to Avenue J to U-turn to the northbound I-35 frontage road in order to access CR 304 E. (See attached map.)

  • North and southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from FM 972 to Bud Stockton Loop
    • Until further notice

I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from FM 3406 (Old Settlers Boulevard) to RM 1431 (University Boulevard)
    • Through late 2020

I-35 AT PARMER LANE

  • North and southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly at Parmer Lane
    • Sunday, Sept. 15 through Monday, Sept. 16 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

  • Southbound US 183 left lane closed nightly at I-35
    • Sunday, Sept. 15 through Wednesday, September 18 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • Southbound US 183 frontage road left lane closed nightly from I-35 to Carver Avenue
    • Sunday, Sept. 15 through Thursday, Sept. 19 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • Northbound I-35 right two lanes closed from US 290 East to St. Johns Avenue. The entrance ramp will also be closed.
    • Sunday, Sept. 15 through Thursday, Sept. 19 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • Southbound I-35 left two lanes closed nightly from Barwood Park to US 290 East
    • Sunday, Sept. 15 through Thursday, Sept. 19 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • North and southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily from St. Johns Avenue to Huntland Drive
    • Monday, Sept. 16 through Friday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Northbound I-35 right lane closed nightly from US 290 East to St. Johns Avenue
    • Monday, Sept. 16 through Thursday, Sept. 19 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • Northbound I-35 right lane closed at Rundberg Lane
    • Monday, Sept. 16 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 AT OLTORF STREET

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily from SH 71 to Woodward Street
    • Monday, Sept. 16 through Friday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily at Oltorf Street
    • Monday, Sept. 16 through Friday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily at St. Edwards Drive
    • Monday, Sept. 16 through Friday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily from Mariposa Drive to Oltorf Street
    • Monday, Sept. 16 through Friday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Northbound I-35 right lane closed nightly at Oltorf Street. The Oltorf Street exit ramp is also closed.
    • Wednesday, Sept. 18 through Thursday, Sept. 19 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly from Woodward Street to Oltorf Street
    • Wednesday, Sept. 18 through Thursday, Sept. 19 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from St. Edwards Drive to Woodward Street
    • Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

  • Southbound I-35 right two lanes closed nightly at Slaughter Lane. The Slaughter Lane exit ramp will also be closed.
    • Sunday, Sept. 15 through Thursday, Sept. 19 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • Northbound I-35 right two lanes closed from Slaughter Lane to Boggy Creek Drive
    • Sunday, Sept. 15 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Slaughter Lane and William Cannon Drive. The Slaughter Lane entrance and exit ramp will also be closed.
    • Sunday, Sept. 15 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • Northbound I-35 right lane closed nightly at Stassney Lane. The Stassney Lane exit ramp will also be closed.
    • Monday, Sept. 16 through Thursday, Sept. 19 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • Northbound I-35 right two lanes closed between Williamson Creek and SH 71. The SH 71 exit ramp will also be closed.
    • Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane between the William Cannon Drive entrance ramp and Stassney Lane

  • Northbound I-35 exit ramps at Posey Road (#199) and Centerpoint Road (#200) are closed. The southbound I-35 entrance ramp south of Posey Road is also closed.
