Interstate 35 Lanes In South Austin Closed Tuesday, July 9, 2019

Southbound main lanes between Woodland Avenue/Oltorf Street exit ramp and entrance ramp south of Oltorf closed for bridge work at 11 p.m.

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation will temporarily close the southbound I-35 main lanes on Tuesday night so crews can safely install overhead signs as part of the Interstate 35 Oltorf Street project.

On Tuesday, July 9, at 11 p.m., crews will begin closing the southbound I-35 main lanes between the Woodland Avenue/Oltorf Street exit ramp and the entrance ramp south of Oltorf Street. Drivers must exit southbound I-35 at the Woodland Avenue/Oltorf Street (exit 232) and will be able to re-enter just south of Oltorf Street. Woodland Avenue and the Oltorf Street bridge at I-35 will also close beginning at 11 p.m. All roadways are expected to reopen at 5 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Road signs have been placed to alert drivers of the closure. TxDOT and the contractor recognize the inconvenience this will cause and are committed to getting the work done quickly and safely.
