Kalamata's Kitchen Launches Austin Dining Guide For Families

AUSTIN, TX — Kalamata’s Kitchen — the food adventure brand with a self-described mission of creating a more curious generation of eaters — urges families living in or visiting Austin to enjoy new culinary experiences together.

How are they doing this? With their newly launched Taste Bud Travel Guide, yielding an online resource in Austin for parents. The guide is curated by the Kalamata’s Kitchen team, to help direct families to dining destinations that are as attractive to adults as they are to kids, company officials said.

"Kalamata’s Kitchen has set out to redefine how families think of 'kid-friendly' dining," officials wrote in a press advisory. "It doesn’t mean dumbed-down, or even separate, kids menus. Kalamata aims to make adventurous eating fun, where kids are excited to try approachable menu items with the rest of the family."

It's fun for kids too. Gauge that with this description: "Follow along with Kalamata, our adventurous kid foodie, and her friends (the 'Taste Buds') as she explores Austin, the food capital of Texas."

The Taste Bud Travel Guide recommends restaurants full of Kalamata-approved tacos from Veracruz All Natural, mouth-watering biscuit sandwiches from Bird Bird Biscuit and life-changing barbecue from La Barbecue that not only welcome families but encourage kids to be more brave when trying new foods, officials said.

Sarah Thomas, Le Bernardin sommelier and Co-Founder of Kalamata’s Kitchen, is an avid traveler and restaurant industry insider who was instrumental in shaping the guides. Austin is one of the focused cities, along with Boston, Denver, Nashville, Portland, Seattle and others.
