Happy Tuesday, people of Austin! Let's get this day started. Here's everything you need to know about what's happening today in Austin.

First, today's weather:

Plenty of sunshine. High: 67 Low: 40.

Here are the top stories today in Austin:

  1. Kerlin BBQ is coming back to Austin this year! The kolache truck will feature its prime focus dish, barbecue-stuffed klobásníky, created by co-owner Amelis Kerlin. The choices include "brisket and cheddar, smoked sausage, jalapeno, and cheddar, and vegetarian ones." The business started in 2014 and opened the dedicated truck in 2017 on East Cesar Chavez. "The new truck will open sometime this year in a different location." For more details, visit: (Eater Austin)
  2. Austin residents are being asked to continue boiling their water for consumption and conserving it. The notice to boil water originally went into effect on Saturday, Feb. 5 and by Sunday, Feb. 6, "Austin Water Director Greg Meszaros said they found the internal issue to be an 'error by operating staff' at the Ullrich Water Treatment Plant." He said, "In the process of clarification there were oversights and errors and had some turbidity issues and the process was not stopped and attended to." The boil water notice is expected to end on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at night. For more information, please visit: (Austonia)
  3. Nominations are being accepted for the 2022 Barbara Jordan Media Awards (BJMA) for "journalists who portray people with disabilities through a positive, person-centered lens." The program is sponsored by "The Governor's Committee on People with Disabilities (GCPD), in partnership with The University of Texas at Arlington's Department of Communication and the Disability Studies Minor in the College of Liberal Arts." Each year, they accept "nominations for media professionals and students who have produced media covering the lived experience of people with disabilities." The deadline to apply is Wednesday, Feb. 23. "Check out the previous winners listed on GCPD's website" and learn more about the program at: (Office of the Texas Governor)
