Kid Band Week Continues At Austin Airport

The week-long event features young performers ranging in age from 10-18 showcasing their talents for travelers.

AUSTIN, TX — The 12th Kid Band Week — featuring young and diverse musicians ranging from 10 to 18 years old — runs at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport through Friday.

"Kid Band Week is an exciting time for young musicians to perform their talents to travelers," airport officials wrote in a press advisory. "This will be the 12th year that the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport has Kid Band Week takeover the Asleep at the Wheel Stage. The airport is eager to show their support and be a part of this music moving summer tradition with these artists."

All performances are scheduled from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Saxon Pub, Asleep at the Wheel Stage, located near Gate 19. Kid Band Week performances started on Monday, July 15 with the Childbloom Chiara Stella Group. Band Aid School of Music followed the next day.

On Wednesday, July 17, the Barton Hills Choir performs followed by the Austin Jazz Club on Thursday, July 18, and the Radha School of Music on Friday, July 19.

  • The Austin Jazz Club is led by Joe Morales with the goal of teaching kids a love of jazz that will last their lifetimes.
