Lotto Texas Jackpot Grows To $6M After Nobody Matches Numbers

AUSTIN, TEXAS — If you forgot to buy a Lotto Texas ticket for Saturday's drawing, don't fret: Nobody matched the winning numbers, increasing the jackpot for this coming Wednesday to $6 million.

The winning numbers for Saturday, Aug. 25, are: 3-10-23-32-36-48. While nobody matched all six numbers, you might want to check your ticket as smaller prizes are awarded for matching as few as three digits. The prize would have been for $5.75 million, but it grows to an even $6 million (with a cash value option of $4.05 million) for the Wednesday, Aug. 29, drawing.

Generally speaking, Lotto Texas numbers are displayed in the lower third of the television screen during local newscasts at 10 p.m. CST. The term "lower third" is a fancy piece of broadcast journalism nomenclature meaning the bottom part of the screen. The winning numbers are generally displayed on the bottom part of the screen.

Oh, and if you play the national Powerball game, be advised the jackpot for that has ballooned to $80 million, with a cash value option estimated at $48.5 million. That's a lot more than the comparatively paltry sum of $6 million being offered by Lotto Texas, but the chances of winning Powerball are astronomical by contrast.
