Broussard and her baby were first reported missing on Dec. 12 by the Austin Police Department. She was initially last seen dropping off a child at Cowan Elementary School, which is located at 2817 Kentish Dr., around 7:30 a.m.

Eight days later, Broussard was found dead in the trunk of a car near Houston after a week of searching for her and her weeks-old daughter, KXAN-TV reports. A car registered to Fieramusca was also parked at the home where the child was found.

The child was found alive and has since been reunited with her father.

Multiple news outlets report that Fieramusca and Broussard were close friends, having met when they were children at a church camp.
