Man Arrested In Homicide Investigation: Police
Jarette Blanchard is in custody for his role in the July 17 shooting death of Dyvyne Ware. Blachard is being held on $500,000 bond.

AUSTIN, TX—The Austin Police Department announced Thursday that earlier in the week it had arrested a man in connection to the July 17 shooting death of Dyvyne Ware.
Jarette Blanchard, 30, was taken into custody Tuesday by the Lonestar Fugitive Task Force and currently is being held in the Travis County Jail with a $500,000 bond, police said.
Ware, 22, died at a local hospital on July 17 from a gunshot wound to the chest suffered earlier that day, according to the medical examiner. Police reported that Ware's murder was the 47th homicide in Austin in 2021.

At approximately 2:49 a.m. on July 17, APD and the Austin-Travis County EMS were called to the area near 6th Street and Neches Street after several reports of multiple gunshots being fired. Ware was found unresponsive in an alley at the scene.
