Man Dies After Crashing Car Into Fixed Object In North Austin

The victim, a male in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene in the early morning hours on Tuesday.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — A man died early Tuesday morning after crashing his vehicle onto a fixed object, officials said.

The accident occurred along North Lamar Boulevard at Powell Lane at about 2:20 a.m., Austin-Travis County EMS officials said. The man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene, medics said.

The nature of the fixed object — whether a tree, light pole, concrete median barrier, parked car or other — wasn't specified. EMS officials noted the street was closed as a result of the crash, and motorists should seek alternative roads to reach their destination.
