Man Dies In Northeast Travis County After Car Slams Into Tree

AUSTIN, TX — A man died on Sunday night after the car in which he was traveling slammed onto a tree in the northwest part of the county, emergency officials said.

Austin-Travis County EMS medics estimated the victim to have been a man in his 20s. The collision occurred at around 9:45 p.m. along the 4200 block of North Quinlan Park Road near Steiner Ranch, medics said.

The impact of the crash initially rendered the victim unconscious and pinned to the vehicle, medics said. Despite efforts to revive the man, he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Further details weren't made available. It typically takes a few days after such an incident to release the names of victims who died. Also, it's unclear if alcoholic beverage consumption may have contributed to the crash or what other reason could have prompted the collision to occur.
