The incident occurred on Feb. 1 just before 7:40 p.m. along the 5700 block of East Stassney Lane. Police said in a press advisory a green, 2001 Toyota Avalon traveling westbound left the road for unknown reasons before crashing into trees. The driver was transported to St. David's South Austin Medical Center, police said, where he succumbed to his injuries three days later just before 10 a.m.
