Man Killed In SH 130 Wreck Identified

Mario Estrada, 58, was driving a red, 2015 Dodge Charger traveling northbound along SH 130 when he lost control and hit a bridge support.

AUSTIN, TX — Police on Tuesday identified the driver who was killed after slamming into a concrete bridge off State Highway 130 two weeks ago.

A preliminary police investigation revealed Mario Estrada, 58, was driving a red, 2015 Dodge Charger traveling northbound along SH 130 when he lost control before leaving the roadway, hitting a concrete bridge support in the center median.

Estrada, who was wearing his seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident marked the sixth fatal crash in Austin so far this year, resulting in six fatalities. At this time in 2019, police added, there were three traffic fatalities.
