Austin Pet Owners: did you know there's an environmentally friendly way to dispose of your pet poop? Each year in America dogs generate over 11 million tons of poop, much of which ends in local landfills and waterways. That's a lot of poop. Fortunately, there's a locally-owned business that will take your poop and recycle it into fertilizer and soil enhancement for gardens and landscaping. Visit Pet Agree Waste Removal to learn more. Give them a call – they'll literally pick up your pet's poop.

Here are the top stories in Austin today:
1) Teen arrested for a written threat found in a Lockhart ISD bathroom. Lockhart ISD said on Monday morning they discovered a threat written on the wall in a girls' bathroom on the campus. An image of the threat also circulated on social media. The Lockhart Police Department arrested a 16-year-old male in connection to the threat. Police said he could potentially face terroristic threat charges, which would be a felony. KXAN has more on this developing story here.
2) Community activists joined a recent CapMetro meeting to urge the board to enact free fares for the houseless community. CapMetro is currently offering free rides to cooling centers to the homeless community until Sept. 30., but local community members want this service to be permanent. Check out the full story here at FOX 7 Austin.
3) Next month, Austin is getting a little brighter with the "Field of Light" installation. On Friday, Sept 9, the immersive art installation by British artist Bruce Munro will officially be open to the public at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. The "Field of Light" installation will span 16 acres and feature 28,000 stemmed spheres lit by solar-powered fiber optics. The installation is meant to showcase an intersection of art, technology, and nature, and you won't want to miss it! Learn more about how you can attend here at KVUE.
