🌱 Mimosa Fest 2022 In East Austin + Pecan Street Festival Is Back

Here are the top stories today in Austin:

  1. Sunday, May 8 is Mother's Day and to celebrate, Hotel Granduca Austin invites you to honor mom all weekend long! On Saturday, May 7, a "Mother's Day Tea" will be held at 3 p.m. featuring items such as "loose leaf teas paired with cucumber and everything cream cheese sandwiches, deviled eggs, smoked salmon toast, cream-filled bombolonis, and much more." On Sunday, May 8, a "Mother's Day Brunch" will be held in the hotel's Salone Ducale Ballroom from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Enjoy live background music while you drink mimosas and feast on decadent menu items with mom. Mimosa Fest 2022 will be held in East Austin from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Fair Market, located at 1100 E. 5th St. Guests 21 and over will be able to enjoy "live music, activation stations, local vendors, and even a mimosa contest." The event organizer, Necoya Tyson, said, "My vision in creating Mimosa Fest stemmed from wanting to bring together people from all walks of life with the goal of engaging local businesses and talent, while also enjoying my favorite things — music, mimosas, and brunch!" Tickets range from $45 to $125 and "include entrance to the festival, photo-activation stations, a souvenir Mimosa Fest cup, and more."   3. After two years of being canceled due to COVID-19, the Pecan Street Festival is back in Austin this weekend, in the Sixth Street Historic District, between Brazos Street and Interstate 35. The free event will take place from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Sunday, May 8. The event will feature artisans and live music, and free COVID-19 vaccines will be provided on-site by Austin Public Health representatives. Proceeds from the event will be donated to local nonprofit and municipal organization by the Pecan Street Association. For more details on the festival visit: (KVUE.com)
