Missing East Austin Boy Found Safe

A 9-year-old boy who had last been seen along the 6000 block of Perlita Drive around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday was found hours later.

Update: The 9-year-old boy who was reported missing Wednesday morning was found safe hours after a search was launched. The child hadn't been seen since 9:30 a.m., but police issued an advisory just after 3:45 p.m. that he was found safe.

AUSTIN, TX — The Austin Police Department issued a plea for assistance from the public in finding a boy who was reported missing on Wednesday.

Joshua Alexander, 9, was last seen at his home along the 6000 block of Perlita Drive around 9:30 a.m., police said. Law enforcement officials noted the boy has a medical condition that heightens concern over his well-being.

Police released a photo in the hopes someone might recognize him let them know of his whereabouts. He stands at four feet, six inches, weighs 60 pounds and has short, black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with a Jordan logo and dark shorts.
