Moontower Comedy Festival Lineup Announced

On tap to bring giggles and guffaws in April are Nick Offerman, Hari Kondabolu, Jon Glaser, Jenny Slate, David Spade, Sal Vulcano, more.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — The 2019 MOONTOWER COMEDY FESTIVAL lineup of headliners was announced on Monday.

Organizers of the eighth annual festival scheduled for April 24-27, along with producers the Paramount Theater and sponsor Cap City Comedy Club, jointly made the announcement of the final lineup. Festival badges — including Star, Nexus, Warrior and Satellite badges —are on sale now, officials added.

"In keeping with Moontower Comedy Festival’s mission to bring together a diverse and hilarious mix of comedians, podcasts and performers from around the world, the festival producers are very excited to release the final additions to this year’s headliners, performing at the Paramount Theatre and Stateside at the Paramount," officials said in a press advisory. "However, plenty of amazing additional talent is still to be announced and will include a stellar roster of stand-up, sketch and musical comedy performances taking the stages at several walkable venues around downtown Austin as well as the Cap City Comedy Club."

Among the headliners are Nick Offerman, the popular comedian, actor, writer (and woodworker) whose lengthy credits include playing Ron Swanson on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation” as well as Karl Weathers in FX’s “Fargo” and others. Additional headliners include Indian comedian, actor and musician Vir Das, who released his latest Netflix comedy special “Losing It” in 2018; Anthony Atamanuik, who gained popularity for his impersonation of Donald Trump first on the “Trump vs. Bernie” debate tour and then on Comedy Central’s “The President Show.” He will be performing as part of his “American Tantrum” tour.

Other top comedic acts performing will be: Hari Kondabolu, who released his Netflix standup special “Warn Your Relatives” in 2018, co-hosts “The Kondabolu Brothers Podcast” and is the creator and star of the truTV documentary “The Problem with Apu”; and Jon Glaser, who is known for his role as Councilman Jeremy Jamm on “Parks and Recreation” as well as Laird on HBO’s “Girls” and for the truTV series “Jon Glaser Loves Gear.”

They join the previously announced list of comics with Andy Kindler, DeAnne Smith, Eddie Pepitone, Jeremiah Watkins, Joe DeRosa, The Lucas Brothers, Kevin McDonald, Ron Bennington, Vanessa Gonzalez and more.
