Multiple Austin Weekend Events To Prompt Street Closures

AUSTIN, TEXAS — The advent of spring brings with it special events in Austin of the type that make for a nice quality of life to its residents. But these same community events invariably create congestion and prompt road closures, and this weekend will be no different.

To help drivers navigate around street closures, the Austin Police Department outlines potential traffic hot spots for this upcoming weekend. The list of street closures gives drivers a heads up to potential traffic backups in alerting ahead of time and enabling people to plot out alternative routes to ensure efficient travel.

• I-35 SB 12th Street, 8th Street and Cesar Chavez exits will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
• I-35 NB 6th through 8th Street exit will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
