AUSTIN, TX — Austin Community College invites the community to a series of events commemorating National Day of Racial Healing later this month.

Faculty, staff, students and the community at large can partake in special events scheduled on Jan. 21 and Jan. 24, officials said in a press advisory. "This is a day we come together to dedicate ourselves to the work of racial healing," Dr. Molly Beth Malcolm, the school's executive vice president of Campus Operations and Public Affairs, said in a prepared statement.

This year's theme, "There's more to me than what you see," features art and performances that seek to encourage participants to discover the unique aspects of each person and encourage more connection with one another," Malcolm added. "Building human connections fosters a more equitable and just community," she explained.
