New Non-Stop Service From Austin To Pittsburgh Set For Launch

Starting this Friday, Allegiant Air will offer the twice-weekly flights on 156-seat A319 aircraft, airport officials said.

AUSTIN, TX – Allegiant Air officials announced the start of twice-weekly, nonstop service between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Pittsburgh International Airport starting on Friday.

“We’re excited to grow in Austin with these new, nonstop flights to Pittsburgh,” Jude Bricker, Allegiant chief operating officer, said in a prepared statement. “We also know that Pittsburgh travelers will take advantage of these convenient flights to explore everything the Live Music Capital of the World has to offer.”

The new flights will operate twice weekly on an A319 aircraft that contain 156 seats. Days, times and lowest fares can be found only at www.allegiantair.com.

“Steel City meets the Live Music Capital of the World,” said Jim Smith, Executive Director, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. “Pittsburgh is Allegiant’s sixth nonstop to Austin and grows Central Texas as a destination.”

Earlier this year, Allegiant launched nonstop service between Austin and Albuquerque. Cincinnati, Memphis and Orlando Sanford International Airport were added in 2015. Allegiant began air service in Austin in fall 2013 with nonstop flights to Las Vegas.

Billing itself as the airport of choice for Central Texas, the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) offers not only nonstop domestic service but international service as well that includes new nonstop international destinations Guadalajara, Mexico on Volaris through www.volaris.com and Mexico City on AeroMexico via www.aeromexico.com.

Other new flights include domestic nonstops, including to Kansas City on Southwest, Raleigh-Durham on Delta, www.delta.com and Pittsburgh, St. Petersburg and Cleveland on Allegiant, www.allegiantair.com.
