New West Austin Chick-fil-A Seeks To Hire 80 Workers
Franchise operator Thamson Nguyen is hiring ahead of January opening of restaurant at Belterra Village, 165 Hargraves Dr.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Hiring is under way for the newest Chick-fil-A restaurant in Austin located in West Austin.
Thamson Nguyen was recently awarded the Chick-fil-A franchise at Belterra Village, 165 Hargraves Dr., set to open for business in January. The eatery will employ up to 80 team members ahead of its opening, officials told Patch.
Nguyen has been a Chick-fil-A Operator since 2016, according to a press advisory. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Valdosta State University along with a master’s in public administration.

Nguyen has also served on the chain’s corporate staff, working as manager of several locations before realizing his dream of becoming an operator. According to a bio, he also formerly served as a Make-A-Wish sponsor and Partner in Education while living in Little Rock, Ark. "Nguyen and his wife, Hannah, are thrilled to be in the area and increase their service to Team Members and the community," officials said.
Nguyen has begun the hiring process, looking to fill both full- and part-time positions, including leadership development, hospitality, catering,training and marketing. Each position will include benefits such as scholarships for continuing education. In addition, Chick-fil-A restaurant team members appreciate having Sundays off, flexible schedules, and the family atmosphere fostered at the restaurant, officials noted.

Chick-fil-A employees also will be eligible for the chain’s initiative, Remarkable Futures, which provides $14.5 million in annual scholarships. Ranging from $2,500 to $25,000, the scholarships are based on leadership, community involvement and academic achievement. Chick-fil-A, which employs more than 75,000 people through corporate positions and franchised locations, has provided nearly $60.5 million to help pay for college since a formal scholarship program was initiated 45 years ago in 1973.
