Newly Constructed Main Lanes On SH 130 Open To Traffic
Texas Department of Transportation will open the newly constructed travel lanes between US 290 East and Cameron Road.
AUSTIN, TX — Texas Department of Transportation crews on Monday were poised to open the newly constructed travel lanes on SH 130 between US 290 East and Cameron Road over the next two weeks, weather permitting, officials said.
On Monday, Oct. 21 at 5 a.m., the third travel lane on northbound SH 130 was opened to traffic between Cameron Road and US 290 East. Scheduled on Monday, Oct. 28, at 5 a.m., the third travel lane of southbound SH 130 will open to traffic between US 290 East and Cameron Road.
The segment between US 290 and Cameron Road is the first segment of the SH 130 widening project to be completed. The segment from Cameron Road to SH 45 North is expected to be complete in late 2020.

A second project to widen SH 130 between US 290 East and SH 71 is underway. Once both projects are complete, drivers will have three travel lanes in each direction on SH 130 from SH 45 North to SH 71.
Drivers are reminded that the speed limit remains 70 miles per hour from SH 45 North to SH 71. Motorists are urged to exercise extra care when driving through construction zones.
