No. 11 Texas (1-0) vs. UTEP (1-0) Football: Everything You Need To Know

Kickoff time, TV, point spread, tickets, parking, traffic and more

Texas enjoyed the best start of the Charlie Strong era with its 50-47 double overtime victory over visiting Notre Dame on Sunday. After losing to the Irish 38-3 in 2015 and finishing with a 5-7 record, the Longhorns (and especially Strong) badly needed to start the campaign on the right foot.

Quarterback Shane Buechele threw for 280 yards and 2 touchdowns, but it was on the ground where the Longhorns did major damage, as four runners combined for 237 yards and 5 touchdowns, including the game-winner by Tyrone Swoopes on a 6-yard run.

UTEP is flying high after a 38-22 victory over New Mexico State. The Miners feature the nation’s leading rusher in Aaron Jones, who ran for 249 yards and 2 touchdown Saturday. The Longhorns, though, figure to overwhelm the Miners in Austin and improve to 2-0 on the year.
