Still Plenty To Do In Waning Days Of SXSW

Musical acts and film screenings continue through the weekend, while interesting panel discussions scheduled during the day.

AUSTIN, TX — There's only three days left for SXSW, but there's still plenty to do.

"We’re thrilled so many international artists have joined us this year," SXSW organizers said in a press release. But several bands weren't allowed entry into the U.S. by immigration officials, officials noted. "To the four who were denied entry: Soviet Soviet, Massive Scar Era, Don Malik, and MBA — our festival is not the same without you. To the handful whose ESTAs were revoked and could not make it, including Eloq, United Vibrations, and Yussef Kamall — our festival is not the same without you.We hope you guys are finding inspiration around every corner out there.

The Film Festival continues through Saturday, and film fans can catch special screenings of the festival's award winners.

"A little birdie told us that Doug Benson will appear on Colt Cabana’s podcast on our super groovy Podcast Stage, so check that business out today.Flatstock 59 and the new SXSW Marketplace are hoppin’, while BBQ and Softball Tournament signups close today," organizers said. "If you’re here on Sunday, you better join us. And finally, here is a puppy. Here is a cat. It’s kind of like the Matrix red pill / blue pill conundrum. Which will you choose?!"

The opening party for the music part of the festival kicked off on Wednesday with a party at Maggie Mae's. The line to get in was long, winding down 6th Street nearly to Brazos Street.
