Open House Showcasing RM 620 Upgrades Scheduled

Gathering scheduled for Wednesday, June 26, to focus on ways to improve mobility and safety along heavily traveled corridor.

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation will host a second open house to discuss proposed improvements to RM 620 South, from SH 71 to Hudson Bend Road, on Wednesday.

The June 26 gathering is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bee Cave City Hall, 4000 Galleria Parkway, in Bee Cave, Texas. The goal of the RM 620 South project is to improve mobility and safety along this heavily traveled corridor. Proposed improvements include:

  • Widening the existing 4-lane divided roadway to a 6-lane divided roadway by adding a third lane in each direction.
  • Adding raised medians.
  • Adding a continuous bicycle/pedestrian shared-use path along the corridor

Residents attending the open house will have the opportunity to review and comment on the proposed project,officials said. Maps, drawings and project information will be on display, and project team members will be available to answer questions. No formal presentation will be given and attendees are invited to come and go at their convenience.

Those unable to attend the meeting in person can review materials and comment online. Individuals may also email comments tohector.tamez@txdot.gov or mail in comments to the TxDOT Austin District, Attention: RM 620 South Project 7901 N. I-35, Austin, Texas 78753. For more information on the project, visit www.txdot.gov and enter the keywords “RM 620 from SH 71.” To be included in the public record, all comments must be received by Thursday, July 11, 2019.
