📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Austin who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our readers to local businesses they need to know. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top stories today in Austin:
1) Community help needed: The Austin Police Department (APD) is searching for 2-month-old Novah White, who was reported missing by Child Protective Services on Dec. 8. Law enforcement officials said the mother's last known residence was in the 6400 block of Loyola Lane in East Austin, and detectives continue to search for both parents. APD said investigation into the baby's well-being was delayed due to the family's lack of cooperation. KVUE has more on this heartbreaking story here.
2) Travis County law enforcement officials have busted an auto repair shop in North Austin for selling fake, temporary car tags. CBS Austin reports that the fake tags were being sold and made at EUW Auto Repair off North Lamar. Get the full scoop on this story here.
3) Feel-good news: A group of anonymous donors pitched in to make sure Austin Pets Alive! (APA) reaches its end-of-year goals. All monetary gifts made to APA will be tripled up to $20,000 through Dec. 31. Give now to double your impact and support our local fur babies in need. CBS Austin has more about this exciting initiative here.
4) Have you been to Pease Park recently? The downtown park got a major facelift this past year that includes natural playgrounds, a treetop observation pod (which is seriously a must-see!!!) and rehabilitation of the existing tree canopy. Architecture and design magazine Dezeen put together an incredible piece detailing how the team behind this project managed to integrate fun with nature — check it out!
