Pedestrian Traffic Death Prompts Closure Of Slaughter Lane
Incident that left man dead occurred along the 9000 block of South Congress Avenue at Slaughter Lane at around 8:20 p.m. Monday.
SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Monday evening, prompting road closure at a key artery.
The incident occurred along the 9000 block of South Congress Avenue at Slaughter Lane at around 8:20 p.m., according to Austin police. A portion of Slaughter Lane was closed to traffic in the aftermath of the collision.
The driver reportedly remained at the scene after the collision to cooperate with a police investigation. Austin-Travis County EMS medics described the victim as an adult man, but provided no further details.
