Police Seek Attacker From East Austin Park
While an arrest has yet to be made, police are seeking a man accused of attacking a woman on a trail in Guerrero Park on July 4.
AUSTIN, TX — Austin police continue to investigate a July 4 incident involving an attack of a woman at Guerrero Park in East Austin.
According to a preliminary investigation, a woman was walking along the trail at the park when an unidentified man approached her from behind and physically assaulted her. "At this time we do not believe that the assault was sexually motivated," police wrote in an advisory.
No arrest has been made to date, but police issued a description of the suspect: A dark-skinned, black man in his late 20s weighing between 150-160 pounds. He is further described as being of medium build with a height of five feet, nine inches to five feet, ten inches. The color of his eyes is unknown, but he is described as having a full head of short, dark hair. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt with a white line near the collar, dark cargo shorts, black, round-corded headphones covering the ears, dark socks and dark tennis shoes.
